Dr. Thana AlYafei is an Emirati internal medicine consultant. She is a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of the UK and Canada and a fellow of the American College of Physicians. She received her medical degree from United Arab Emirates University, completed her residency in internal medicine at the University of Toronto, Canada, and received a Masters’ in Leadserhsip in Health Professionals’ Education from the Royal College of Surgeons of Ireland.

Dr. AlYafei is currently the chair of the Department of Medicine at Sheikh Khalifa Medical City (SKMC), Abu Dhabi. Dr. AlYafei is a clinician educator, with extensive experience in postgraduate medical education. She is the chair of the internal medicine scientific committee of the National Institute of Health Sciences (Emirati board) and serves as an examiner for regional and international medical examinations.

Dr. AlYafei is passionate about medical education, simulation in healthcare, and advancing palliative medicine in the region.
