Welcome to the IT Programming Contest 2023!

The College of Information Technology at the United Arab Emirates University is proud to host the annual IT Programming Contest. This contest is a showcase of talent, where students from grades 6 to 12 demonstrate their IT knowledge and skills across multiple disciplines.

Registration kit collection

Contestants and coaches would be required to arrive in the morning before event starts. After arrival, they must show their school ID cards and acceptance email at the registration desk to collect the registration kit (includes ID badges). Students will not be allowed to participate in the contest without proof of online registration and acceptance. Coach must be present with the teams at the registration kit collection time.

About the Contest

This stimulating event is crafted to test and enhance participants foundational knowledge in three primary IT domains:

General Computer Knowledge

• Teams will tackle questions that cover a broad range of computer knowledge in the first session of the event.

Programming

• Participants will be tested with programming problems, including but not limited to math, geometric, string, and simple data structure problems. They shall have the opportunity to select from C++, Python, or Java to solve coding challenges. The provided Integrated Development Environments (IDEs) are as follows:
• C++: DevCPP
• Java: NetBeans
• Python: Pycharm Community Edition

Graphic Illustration

• The competition encourages creativity in visual design, allowing the use of tools like GIMP for creating images, logos, posters, or animations. Download GIMP here.

Event Structure

The competition will unfold over two sessions, separated by a lunch break. Detailed schedules will be posted on our website soon.

Judging and Awards

A panel of esteemed judges will evaluate the submissions from each sub-competition. Scores from each category will be combined to form the final tally. The top three teams will be celebrated and awarded for their outstanding performance.
