On behalf of the scientific community at United Arab Emirates University (UAEU), we are delighted to invite you and to welcome you to the Seventh International Conference on Engineering Geophysics (ICEG), to be held on October 16-19, 2023 at the UAEU campus in Al-Ain, UAE.
The ICEG has been held every two years since 2011 by UAEU in partnership with Al-Ain City Municipality (AAM) and in collaboration with the Society of Exploration Geophysicists (SEG) as the scientific partner. The ICEG consecutive success was reflected by the increasing number of participants, and the increasing number of the high quality received and accepted papers.
The seventh ICEG will take place this year and aligned with the objectives of “Year of Sustainability”, which has been announced by UAE Government. This year will also witness the UAE hosting the 28th Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP28) in November 2023 to unite the world towards agreement on bold, practical and ambitious solutions to the most pressing global challenge of our time.
In line with the national leadership’s ambitious vision of striving for continued excellence and leadership, the UAEU has made innovation a strategic priority and seeks to encourage creativity and innovation that can contribute to strengthening sustainable development and the development of a knowledge economy at local and international levels. Through promoting creativity and innovation, the university has established a competitive spirit throughout the scientific research community.
As part of our objectives to make the ICEG a truly innovative forum, we have included as part of the conference’s associated activities the “Innovation Award for Geophysics”, which is an open competition and the first of its kind in the field. The top three ranked candidates will receive financial awards. These awards will continue in the future as an integral part of the ICEG.
