Al Ain is the largest inland city in the Emirates, the fourth-largest city (after
Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Sharjah), and the second-largest in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.
Al Ain is one of the world's oldest permanently inhabited settlements and a UNESCO
World Heritage Site. The freeways connecting Al Ain, Abu Dhabi, and Dubai form a geographic
triangle in the country. The city is located approximately 160 kilometers east of
the capital Abu Dhabi, and about 120 kilometers south of Dubai. This way It’s well
connected by road and also has Al Ain International Airport.
The ecologically important Jebel Hafeet is considered one of the monuments of Al Ain,
lying just to the south of the city, and rising to 1,100–1,400 meters in elevation.
With its name “Al Ain” meaning “The Spring” in Arabic, referring to natural water
sources and springs that fed its oases, the city is known as the Garden City for its
palm groves and natural springs. Bronze Age remains include tombs on the towering
Jebel Hafeet, to the south, and in Al Hili Archaeological Park, to the north. The
central Al Ain National Museum displays artifacts from these sites.
Furthermore, we would like to take this opportunity and encourage you to extend your
stay in Al Ain city and experience the unique nature and the diverse touristic activities
of the place. One may partake in a picnic, a mild excursion, or a refreshing swim
in the park's natural hot springs at this location.
