Water Resources Management & Sustainability: Solutions for Arid Regions

The lack of freshwater resources in arid and semi-arid regions around the globe constitutes the major deterrent towards achieving sustainable development. Water is the most limiting and strategically important resource in such areas including the United Arab Emirates. The future and prosperity of nations is largely dependent on water availability and sustainability. The United Arab Emirates has always been addressing imminent issues of global concerns. Through this conference, we seek innovative solutions to ensure water availability for the future generations. This event will foster the global collaboration on water issues

The organization of this important conference reflects the vision of the leaders of the country to develop and preserve the natural resources. UAE University is committed to address and resolve water scarcity issues. The target is to maximize the efficiency of the use of the resources and minimize the losses; specifically in the agriculture sector where the water is consumed most. We also seek to develop new technologies for water desalination, treatment, and recycling.
