In the rapidly-evolving and ever-changing current world, equipping students with future skills and improving their competencies on different levels foster their employability in prospective future and provide them with better life opportunities. UAEU believes that students need to be equipped with a forward-thinking approach that encourages experimentation and exploration, higher-order thinking skills, empathy, and collaboration. While the job market is continuously expanding and improving, UAEU students need to raise up to the competitive requirements of the world employability market by focusing on the different skills including cognitive, digital, interpersonal, and self-leadership skills which improve their goals achievement, entrepreneurship skills, self-awareness and self-management skills.

As part of its participation in the celebrations of “UAE Innovates”, the College of Humanities and Social Sciences (CHSS) in UAEU is hosting the “Future Skills and Employability Forum” on Tuesday, February 28, 2023. The forum aims to promote innovation and innovative thinking skills among UAEU’s students to build a culture of innovation and effectively prepare UAEU students for the future job market. The forum builds on the UAE National Strategy for Advanced Innovation which focuses on exploration, future skills, quality of life, and employing technology to serve the human benefit. The forum also addresses the UAE’s national framework that is designed to foster the concept of life-long learning by focusing on the personal, social, and economic improvement in the country through enhancing effective personality traits, social competencies, and developmental skills.

The forum creates an opportunity for innovative leaders and practitioners from different educational, governmental, and industry disciplines to discuss and share insightful thoughts and research findings about innovative educational strategies and revolutionary technological solutions that foster advanced future skills among UAEU students and equip them with the best competencies and thinking approaches to effectively compete in an ever-changing and evolving world.  The one-day forum features keynotes, panel discussions, and workshop in which the attendees can benefit and participate in thoughtful experiences that enhance their creative thinking and provide them with better and vibrant futuristic visions.
