We are pleased to invite you to the Joint Conference of the British Accounting and Finance Association (BAFA) Corporate Finance and Asset Pricing SIG and the Northern Area Group from 13^th – 15^th December 2023 in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The conference will be hosted by the College of Business and Economics, United Arab Emirates University. The conference theme is “Fintech and Sustainable Accounting & Finance in a World of Change”. The conference will also host the British Accounting Review Special Issue on “At the Interface of Digital Technologies and Management Accounting”. We invite the submission of original papers related to, but not limited by, the following broad theme:

 “Fintech and Sustainable Accounting & Finance in a World of Change”

Digitalisation, fintech and Sustainability have had a huge impact on accounting and Finance in today's business landscape. Digitalisation more generally, and fintech more specifically, have revolutionized the way we handle financial transactions. Sustainability on the other hand, is crucial for the longevity of businesses and the planet. Both digitalisation, fintech and sustainability impact the way businesses finance and account for their businesses. Part of their response is also borne of a need to respond to efforts by governments and non-governmental organisations to regulate these phenomena.  The intersection of these three topics is vital to the success of businesses in the modern world, as sustainable practices, innovative digital and fintech solutions, and responsible regulatory frameworks are necessary for long-term success. The integration of these three areas can lead to a more sustainable, efficient, and ethical business ecosystem

The conference offers an interdisciplinary forum and will bring together researchers and practitioners in the accounting and finance field to explore timely research on “Fintech and Sustainable Accounting & Finance”, and digitalisation. The conference welcomes interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary approaches that explore the intersection of different fields of study related to the conference theme.
