1. Who is eligible to participate?

• All undergraduate students from UAEU are eligible to submit their abstract proposals.
• Only registered and active undergraduate students are eligible to participate.

2. What type of research project can I present?

• You can submit an abstract for any research project you have already completed, individually or as a group (max. 4 participants).
• You may only submit an abstract for your own original
• If you want to submit an abstract for a group project, you should get permission from all group members beforehand.

3. What do I need to submit?

• You need to submit a well-written abstract (max. 200 words) of your research project. Please see the section on ABSTRACT WRITING for guidance.
• In addition to the abstract, we also require the following details from you:
• Your contact details
• Co-presenters’ details (if any)
• Your research supervisor’s contact details
• Type of presentation: oral presentation (15 minutes), ePoster or poster presentation

4. How do I submit?

• All applicants must submit their abstracts online using this link: Abstract Submission link
• The submission deadline is now 13th, March 2023.
• Please note that late submissions will not be considered

5. What happens after I submit my abstract?

• Abstracts will be reviewed by a selection panel from your college.
• Your college will select the best abstract proposals as follows:
• A maximum of 11 research projects per college
  • 15-minute oral presentations: max. 6 per college
  • ePoster presentations: max 2 per college
  • poster presentations: max. 3 per college
• Applicants will be notified about the outcome of their application by email.

6. Abstract Writing Guidelines

• You should write your abstract in English unless you completed your research project for a course delivered in Arabic.
• Your abstract should be a one paragraph summary (max. 200 words) of your research project.
• Abstracts should include the following points (only!):
  1. Background about the topic / problem that you investigated
  2. Aim(s) of your research project

• Research methods

1. Results
2. Conclusion(s)

• You should also provide a title for your research project (max. 20 words).

Helpful resources on how to write an abstract are available on the Writing Center Blackboard site and on the conference website. You are also encouraged to book a consultation with a Writing Center tutor for feedback on your abstract before submission.
