The Intellectual Property and Patents Office at the United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) organized a workshop to promote awareness of the intellectual property rights. The aim of the workshop was to present the best practices for protecting the intellectual property and patents, and discussed the best practices in the protection of the intellectual property and the registration of patents.

A number of patent owners have been invited to share their experiences in obtaining their patents. Prof. Sulaiman Al-Zuhair, Faculty of Engineering, presented his experience in registering a patent, and explained to the attendees the intellectual methodology required to complete the registering process.

Lawyer Eng. Ahmed Saleh, the Director of Patents and Industrial Design,  Al Tamimi and Co., stressed on the importance of patent registration and the legal procedures to be followed by the scientific lawyers specializing in patents and in order to prepare the patent applications and be able to defend in the  court of law
