H.E Professor Mohammed Albaili, Vice Chancellor of UAEU, has inaugurated on Thursday,1 February 2018 the launch of the UAEU Innovation Week activities, as part of its participation in "UAE Innovation Month”, which will take place from (1-8 February 2018), this participation comes in line with the directives of HH Sheikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to celebrate UAE innovations and its inventors.

During the opening celebration, which was attended by faculty, staff and students- H.E Professor Mohammed Albaili provided an overview presentation on the scheduled programme of diversified activities to showcase the outstanding innovations of faculty, students and UAEU distinguished researchers to acknowledge the huge impact of their innovative ideas and achievements to develop the modern life style, “UAEU innovation has become a deep culture that is evolving day-by-day within the minds of its students, inventors and faculty, a methodology toward a better future and modern lifestyle", H.E. Professor Mohammed Albaili said,” he also explained that the programme will include 55 technology-based activities with main 9 featured innovation events that varies between research conferences, innovation exhibitions, symposiums, workshops, training sessions and educational lectures, fairly distributed to achieve the best desired interactions of both participants and visitors.

Then, H.E Professor Mohammed Albaili along with the attendees made a tour of the scheduled activities for the first day of the UAEU innovation week, and gave his thanks and appreciation for the distinguished innovations, encouraging all of the faculty, students and local community to visit these activities and interact with them, stressing on the importance of this national celebration to make the United Arab Emirates among the most innovative countries in the world, and that UAEU in its commitment toward the country’s 2021 vision, local community and its students to drive innovation and continuous development for UAE that will contribute tp strengthening the country's position as a global hub for innovation.
