The College of Science (COS) in cooperation with the UAE Council of Scientists organized on Thursday, 1 February 2018 a workshop themed on robotics applications in the scientific innovations "Innovate with Robots" in order to promote the culture of innovation in smart robots’ field and the various scientific applications to the university students.

 The workshop focused on the main concept of innovation of smart robots and their applications, and showcased the different smart robots projects, such as "3G - Robot", which was ranked among the best 100 inventions around the world for Arab inventors in 2008, and won the gold medal for the best developed inventions for 2009, in addition, to the "Police Robot", which was created in 2010 and the first of its kind to be used in civil and military applications to evacuate people in hazardous areas and to develop civil works in cleaning beaches and public places. The UGV-Unmanned Ground Vehicle robotics project, which was developed in collaboration with a Swiss company, to provide aid to dangerous areas which are hard be reached geographically, with a speed that might reach up to 180 km per hour in addition to the drone project.

The workshop was presented by Eng. Mohammed Al Shamsi, Member of the  UAE Council of Scientists and CEO of RoBoHiTecK, the first of company of its kind in the UAE and the Gulf region, specialized in inventing and developing smart robots and their applications in the fields of Artificial Intelligence for to help mankind.
