UAEU launches more than 70 events and competitions within the “UAE Innovates 2022”
activities
All the UAEU colleges and scientific centers participate this year in more than 70
events and competitions to celebrate the month of innovation and the “UAE Innovates
2022” events, with the aim of keeping pace with government efforts aimed at consolidating
a culture of innovation among members of society in general, and promoting Community
participation in creating future experiences and initiatives, which will be employed
in supporting the UAE directions over the next fifty years.
On this occasion, Prof. Ghaleb Al Hadrami Al Breiki, Acting Vice Chancellor of the
United Arab Emirates University, said: "In accordance with its strategic plan, the
United Arab Emirates University attaches special importance to innovation. This is
done through full support and coordination between all colleges, departments and research
centers that are consolidating a culture of innovation in the university work environment.
Furthermore, it is motivating and educating students about the importance of innovation
by launching and introducing strategic initiatives that promote innovation concepts,
in addition to innovation and scientific excellence -focused events, activities, workshops,
and conferences.
Prof. Ghaleb Al Breiki added: "We have launched many programs, initiatives and competitions
that contribute to promoting a culture of innovation among the university students
and employees, and help them transform their creative ideas and ambitions into a tangible
reality, especially in sustainable development, in line with the UAE leadership vision
towards achieving global leadership.”
He explained: "The university's first activities began with a series of innovation
lectures in Earth sciences on January 31. The Innovation Month 2022 program, which
will continue at UAEU until February 28, includes many competitions on innovative
applications, in addition to workshops and brainstorming about the latest innovations
in all fields of environment, medicine, biology, artificial intelligence, Internet
of things, cloud computing, mathematics and physics, innovative mathematical methods
in modeling, space and geographical applications, in addition to arts, culture and
entrepreneurship, which all contribute to improve the students’ skills and creativity.
It will also support the government's visions for the next fifty years of the UAE'."
