Dr. Prospera Tedam is a qualified social worker registered with Social Work England and has practice experience of about 25 years. A social work academic with a teaching career spanning over 15 years in higher education institutions in the United Kingdom, Prospera has taught social work at the Open University, University of Northampton and latterly, Anglia Ruskin University where she retains a Visiting Fellow role. Prospera was the external examiner at the University of Central Lancashire in Preston and for the Social Work Practice Education Course at Birmingham City University . A child protection and safeguarding expert, Prospera has research interests in the areas of social work practice learning (field work), preventative interventions and child protection with focus on children from black and minority ethnic communities in the UK.
Prospera served for 7 years on the Independent Family Returns Panel of the Home Office, a government appointment advising on the return of children with no legal right to remain in the UK. Prospera has experience in teaching, supervising and assessing students at Masters and Doctoral levels in the UK. In August 2018, Prospera joined the social work department at UAEU.
