Prof. Mohi Eldin Magzoub

Professor of Medical Education, College of Medicine and Health Sciences United Arab Emirates University

Prof. MohiEldin Magzoub is a distinguished scholar in medical education and curriculum development. Professor of Medical Education at the United Arab Emirates University and has previously chaired its Department of Medical Education. Holding a PhD in Medical Education from Maastricht University and Membership of the Faculty of Public Health Medicine (UK), Prof. Magzoub has over three decades of experience advancing curriculum innovation, assessment, and faculty development.

His leadership and research have significantly influenced health professions education across the Middle East through his work with AMEEMR, WFME, and other international academic bodies.

Prof.Arif Cevik

Professor of Emergency Medicine (EM) and Internal Medicine (IM).

Prof. Arif Alper Cevik is a distinguished emergency medicine physician and educator with more than 24 years of clinical, academic, and leadership experience. He serves as Professor of Emergency Medicine and Internal Medicine at the United Arab Emirates University, where he leads key educational programs. A global advocate for emergency medicine education, he founded the International Emergency Medicine (iEM) Education Project and co-founded acilci.net, one of the leading FOAM platforms worldwide.

Prof. Cevik has published extensively and is an active member of the International Federation for Emergency Medicine (IFEM).

Prof. Elsheikh Badr

Executive Director – RAK Medical & Health Sciences University

Prof. Elsheikh Badr is a distinguished public health physician and global expert in community medicine and health workforce development with over 25 years of leadership across Sudan and the Eastern Mediterranean Region. He serves as Professor and Executive Director of the Center for Health Workforce Development at RAK Medical and Health Sciences University, UAE. A long-standing WHO Consultant, he has advised national and regional health bodies and contributed to developing several competency frameworks for medical and public health education. Prof. Badr is a Fellow of the Faculty of Public Health (UK) and a founding member of the International Academy of Public Health.

Prof. Amjad Mohammad Qandil

Acting Director, Commissioner and Higher Education Expert

Prof.Amjad Qandil is an accomplished higher education leader with more than 25 years of experience in academic accreditation, quality assurance, and higher education policy. As Acting Director and Commissioner at the UAE’s Commission for Academic Accreditation, he provides strategic leadership in advancing national quality frameworks and ensuring alignment with international standards of academic excellence.

His career includes senior academic and leadership roles across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Jordan. Prof. Qandil holds a PhD in Synthetic Medicinal Chemistry from Purdue University, USA, and a BSc in Pharmacy (Honors) from Jordan University of Science and Technology.

Dr.Faten Alradini

Associate Professor & Consultant Family Medicine, Medical Education and Clinical Simulation

Dr.Faten AlRadini is an accomplished academic and healthcare professional specializing in family medicine, medical education, and clinical simulation. She serves as an Associate Professor and Consultant at Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University and holds a Fellowship in Clinical Simulation from Harvard Medical School, alongside a Master’s degree in Medical Education from Durham University, United Kingdom. Dr.AlRadini held several leadership roles in academia and healthcare, contributing to curriculum innovation, simulation-based training, and academic affairs development. 

Prof.John Norcini

Research Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at Upstate Medical University

John Norcini, PhD is a Research Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at Upstate Medical University and a Fellow of Presence (a Center at Stanford Medical School). Previously, he held senior positions at FAIMER and the American Board of Internal Medicine. He has more than 200 publications, lectured and taught in more than 45 countries, and is on the editorial boards of several peer-reviewed journals.

He is an honorary Fellow of the Royal College of General Practitioners (UK) and the Academy of Medical Educators and has received numerous awards including the Karolinska Prize for Research in Medical Education and the Hubbard Award.

Dr. Mohammed Al Houqani

Associate Professor of Internal Medicine, United Arab Emirates University (UAEU); Secretary General, National Institute for Health Specialties (NIHS), UAE

Dr. Mohammed Al Houqani is a distinguished physician, academic, and health system leader with extensive experience in internal medicine, medical education, and public health. He serves as Associate Professor of Internal Medicine at the United Arab Emirates University and Secretary General of the National Institute for Health Specialties.

Dr. Al Houqani obtained his MBBS from UAE University and completed his residency in Internal Medicine, followed by fellowships in Respirology and Sleep Medicine at the University of Toronto, Canada.

Dr. Nehal Khamis

Adjunct Professor, Johns Hopkins University

Dr. Nehal Khamis is an internationally recognized leader in medical and health professions education with over 25 years of experience in curriculum design, faculty development, simulation-based learning, and educational innovation. She co-leads the Curriculum Development course and the integration of Generative AI in the Master of Education in the Health Professions (MEHP) program at Johns Hopkins University, where she also created and leads the first structured course on AI applications in health professions education.

Dr. Khamis has served in senior educational leadership roles globally, including as Senior Medical Education Consultant to the Secretary General of the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties.

Dr. Saud Alturki

Consultant Vascular Surgeon and transformative healthcare leader

Dr. Saud Alturki is a distinguished vascular surgeon and transformative leader in healthcare education and innovation, with a career spanning more than four decades. He serves as Chairman of the National ATLS Trauma Program – Saudi Chapter, where he has led the nationwide standardization of trauma life-support training. As the inaugural Region 17 Chief for the American College of Surgeons, he has advanced trauma education and capacity-building across more than 20 countries in the MENA region.

A pioneer in medical technology, Dr. Alturki is the Founder of the Academy of Sciences and CEO of VR Solutions, where he spearheads the integration of virtual reality into medical training.

Prof. Hossam Hamdy

Professor of medical education and consultant

Prof. Hossam Hamdy is a distinguished surgeon, medical educator, and academic leader with more than 40 years of experience in higher education across the Middle East and internationally. He has held senior leadership roles at Suez Canal University, Arabian Gulf University, the University of Sharjah, and Gulf Medical University, where he served as Chancellor. Prof. Hamdy has contributed extensively to medical education innovation, research, and policy, and has served as a WHO Consultant and WFME Assessor. His outstanding contributions have been recognized with numerous international awards, including the Knight of the Order of Academic Palms and the Emirati Doctor Award (2023)

Prof. Ismail Matalqa

President RAK Medical and Health Sciences University, Ras Al Khaimah, UAE

Prof. Ismail Matalka is a distinguished pathologist and academic leader with extensive experience in medical education, accreditation, and health system development. He serves as President of Ras Al Khaimah Medical and Health Sciences University and has previously held senior roles including Dean of Medicine and CEO of King Abdullah University Hospital in Jordan. A Fellow of the Royal College of Pathologists (UK), Prof. Matalka is Vice President of the International Academy of Pathology (Asia) and a leading contributor to quality assurance and medical education across the regio.

Dr. Hatim Al Ameri

Director: Healthcare Workforce Monitoring Division, Department of Health,Abu Dhabi.

Dr. Hatem Alameri is a senior healthcare leader and pulmonologist with more than 25 years of experience in clinical practice, academic medicine, and health regulation. He serves as Director of the Healthcare Workforce Monitoring Division at the Department of Health – Abu Dhabi and as Adjunct Clinical Professor at Khalifa University. Dr.Alameri founded Tanseeq, the UAE’s first national residency matching program, and led Abu Dhabi’s postgraduate medical education to achieve ACGME-I accreditation. He trained at McGill University, Canada, and has received several international awards, including the ACGME-I Physician Leader Award (2022).

Dr.Mona Al Sheikh

Vice-President of the Saudi Society of Medical Education

Dr. Mona Hmoud Al-Sheikh is an accomplished academic and higher education leader with extensive experience in neurophysiology and medical education. She serves as Associate Professor of Neurophysiology and Head of the Research and Innovation Unit at the College of Medicine, Imam Abdulrahman bin Faisal University (IAU), and is the Vice President of the Saudi Society of Medical Education (SSME).
A certified accreditation reviewer with the National Education and Training Evaluation Commission (ETEC), Dr. Al-Sheikh has contributed significantly to academic quality and innovation, including establishing the Medical Education Department, Faculty Development Program, and Examination Center at IAU.
