As part of the UAE’s National Innovation Strategy launched in October 2014 by His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, The College of engineering at UAEU will feature competitions that will help generate new ideas and re-evaluate innovations achieved by college students during the year 2018.
As part of College of Engineering activities during the UAE’s Innovation Month, the college is pleased to announce a project competition to highlight the design and innovation activities by college students. All Engineering students are encouraged to participate in this competition with their projects or project ideas, including undergraduate and graduate students.

All Engineering students can participate with their ideas and projects under three categories:
All presenting students will receive a certificate of participation. The awards will be for two criteria, best idea and best poster/presentation. The winning top 3 projects/ideas in each category for every criterion will be recognized at the event lunch and receive their prizes at the closing ceremony. The three top-ranked winners in each of the two categories under each criterion will be awarded as follows:

Free design A1 portrait poster of A1 size for presentation. Although it is not required, the participating teams are encouraged to display their prototypes (if available).
COE students are encouraged to participate in teams. In consultation with the competition guide, each team should fill out the competition participation form online. Each team will be provided with a poster stand, a table and power cable if needed. At least one member must attend to present the poster. An evaluation process for all presented posters will be conducted separately on 5th- 6th February 2018.
The selected projects will be required to prepare a free design portrait A1 sized poster for presentation. Although it is not required, the participating teams are encouraged to display their prototypes (if available). At least one student must attend to present the poster. An evaluation process for the graduate, undergraduate, and general ideas/projects will be conducted separately. The evaluation committee will be comprised of representatives from the UAE companies and institutions. The evaluation criteria are outlined below:
