Dr Hassan Abdalla is an Assistant Professor in the Private Law Department at the College of Law. His teaching and research interests include commercial law, international business transactions, maritime law, and aviation law. He holds a PhD in Law from Monash University (Australia).

Prof. Frank Emmert

Director of its Center for International and Comparative Law. Professor at Indiana University Robert H. McKinney Sc hoolof Law in Indianapolis.

Professor Dr. Frank Emmert is a tenured professor at Indiana University’s Robert H. McKinney School of Law in Indianapolis and Director of its Center for International and Comparative Law. He teaches international business transactions, international commercial arbitration, artificial intelligence regulation, blockchain and digital currency law, international trade and investment law, and European Union law. He has published more than 100 books and articles in these fields. 

Professor Emmert has taught at numerous universities in the United States and internationally. He regularly speaks at conferences worldwide and serves as a consultant and arbitrator in international business disputes. Since 2011, he has chaired the Council on International Law and Politics. He is also a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and a member of the Silicon Valley Arbitration and Mediation Center. His current projects focus on business law, international investment law, digital currencies, and the impact of artificial intelligence on access to justice and the rule of law.

Associate Professor of Law at Indiana University’s Robert H. McKinney School of Law in Indianapolis 

Eric D. Swank is an Associate Professor of Law at Indiana University’s Robert H. McKinney School of Law in Indianapolis, where he teaches Legal Communication and Analysis. He earned his law degree from the University of Michigan Law School and began his career in employee benefits law, representing public pension funds across the United States and advising on legislative initiatives, taxation, fiduciary duties, and investment policies. 

He later joined Indiana University’s Office of Research Compliance, where he managed compliance programs supporting the university’s scientific research. His research and writing interests include export controls, conflicts of interest, and emerging issues at the intersection of research and technology, as well as legal writing, professional identity development, and the role of law schools in preparing students for ethical legal practice. 



Dr. Karem Aboelazm
 

Dr. Karem Sayed Aboelazm

Dr. Karem Saeed Aboelazm is an Assistant Professor at the College of Law, United Arab Emirates University, specializing in public law and public administration. He holds two doctoral degrees awarded in 2019: a Ph.D. in Public Law from Ain Shams University with distinction and a Ph.D. in Public Administration from Cairo University with a very good grade. He also holds several postgraduate degrees and specialized diplomas. 

Dr. Aboelazm has diverse academic experience at several Egyptian and Gulf universities, including the University of Sharjah, the University of Khorfakkan, Umm Al Quwain University, and Sultan Qaboos University. He also has professional experience in legal research, consultancy, arbitration, and contracts, and previously served as Head of the Arbitration Department at the Office of Egypt’s Minister of Finance. His research activities are documented across several international academic databases and platforms.

Dr. Abdalla Ibrahim Aldarmaki

The Deputy Secretary-General of the Arab Federation for Digital Economy (AFDE)

Dr. Abdalla Ibrahim Abdalla Mohammed Aldarmaki is an Emirati expert in management, institutional excellence, and the digital economy. He serves as Deputy Secretary-General of the Arab Federation for Digital Economy and is the Founder and CEO of the Strategic Center for Consulting and Training. He has more than 22 years of experience across the government, semi-government, and private sectors, including roles at Etisalat, Kalba Municipality, and the ADNOC Group. 

He holds a Ph.D. in Management and Institutional Excellence from Management and Science University in Malaysia and a Master’s degree in Human Resources Management Strategy from the University of Wollongong. He previously served as a member of the Sharjah Consultative Council and chaired its Recommendations Drafting Committee. He also has extensive experience assessing government excellence programs and awards in the UAE and abroad. An author, researcher, and university lecturer, he has contributed to academic research, community initiatives, volunteer work, and the media. He has received numerous awards and honors in recognition of his academic, professional, and community contributions. 

Dr. Samya Al Nahdi
 

Dr. Samya Al Nahdi

Head, Internal Sharia Control, Al MasrafArab Bank for Investment & Foreign Trade

Dr. Samya Al Nahdi, CSAA, is a legal and Shari’ah governance specialist with extensive experience in Islamic banking and finance. She is the first woman in the region approved as a Shari’ah scholar by the UAE Central Bank’s Higher Shari’ah Authority and the first woman globally to head an Internal Shari’ah Control Department. Since 2014, she has led the department at Al Masraf, overseeing Shari’ah compliance, product development, legal documentation, and advisory matters. 

Dr. Al Nahdi holds a Ph.D. in Law and a Master’s in Private Law from United Arab Emirates University. She is a licensed lawyer before UAE federal and local courts, a registered international and Islamic banking and finance arbitrator, and a member of the UAE Banks Federation’s Islamic Banking Committee. Her work also includes establishing Islamic banking services, developing Shari’ah-compliant products, and publishing research on banking and commercial law. 

Dr. Saeed Abdulrahman Al-Ali

Dr. Saeed Al Ali initiated his academic career as a teaching assistant at UAEU in 2016. He pursued his Master's degree in Public Law at CWRU in the United States, completing it in 2017. Following this, he undertook doctoral studies at CWRU, culminating in the award of his PhD in 2019. His doctoral research, titled "The Pursuit of Happiness in the United Arab Emirates Legal System," formed the basis of his scholarly contributions. Concurrently, he assumed the role of Assistant Professor at UAEU. 

Dr. Saeed Al Ali's instructional portfolio encompasses a diverse range of courses, with a primary focus on Constitutional Law course, reflecting his scholarly interests. Additionally, he delivers teaches Legal Writing and Research, facilitating students' mastery of legal research methodologies to be applies in various contexts, including legal memoranda, advisory opinions, and straightforward legal researches. Moreover, Dr. Saeed Al Ali has a keen academic interest in Environmental Law, as demonstrated by his experience in teaching this subject to Master's students for the past two years. In addition to his teaching responsibilities, he oversees students participating in external training programs, aimed at enriching the educational experiences of students within the College of Law at UAEU.

Hani Dalati is a Senior Legal Consultant with extensive experience in legal practice and consultancy in the United Arab Emirates since 2009. He has worked with several law firms in Al Ain and currently serves at Dr. Abdalla Al Nasser Law Office. His expertise includes case management, drafting legal memoranda and contracts, providing legal advice, and training new employees in legal ethics and professional practice. 

He holds a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Aleppo, a Diploma in Private Law from Benha University, and a Master’s degree in Private Law from United Arab Emirates University, graduating with a score of 93%. He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Law at the same university. He is also a public speaker, a certified karate coach, and holds a second-degree black belt.

Assistant Legal Advisor for Fatwa andLegislation, Ministry of Justice / Legal Advisor,Judicial Training Institute PhD Students - Private Law

Mohamed Hasan Ismaeel Alaydaroos is a Counsel in the Legislation Department at the UAE Ministry of Justice and is currently seconded to the Judicial Training Institute. He holds a Bachelor of Laws from United Arab Emirates University with a GPA of 3.95 out of 4 and a Master’s degree in Public Law with a GPA of 3.92 out of 4. He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Philosophy of Law at the same university. 

He has experience in judicial and legislative work and legal research, having served as a judicial trainee at the Ministry of Justice, a legal researcher at the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers, and a counsel in the Technical Office of His Excellency the Minister of Justice. He ranked first among the 21st cohort of judicial trainees, received the Salem Bin Ham Award for Academic Excellence, and won first place while representing the College of Law in moot court competitions. He is also a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) with skills in legal and policy analysis, project management, and change management. 

 

Prof. Abdullah Abdulrahman Al Khatib

Professor Abdullah Alkhatib has over two decades of academic and professional experience in the fields of law, arbitration, and advanced legal education. He has held several key academic and professional positions, most notably as a Board Member of the Securities and Commodities Authority, and a Scientific Council Member at the Judicial Training Institute of the Ministry of Justice. He is also a licensed lawyer in the United Arab Emirates and a certified arbitrator registered with several national and regional arbitration centers.

Professor Alkhatib earned his Ph.D. in Law from Tulane University, United States (2010), his Master of Laws (LL.M.) from the same university (2003), and his Bachelor’s degree in Sharia and Law with distinction and second-class honors from the United Arab Emirates University (2000). He is also a graduate of the Executive Leadership Program organized by the UAE Prime Minister’s Office (2019), and the Government Accelerators Diploma – Second Cohort (2020).

Professor Alkhatib has made significant contributions to the development of legal education in the UAE, through initiatives aimed at modernizing curricula and integrating technology and artificial intelligence into the teaching of law. He has held several leadership positions at UAEU, including Advisor to the University Chancellor and Board of Trustees, Director of Legal Affairs and Policies, Assistant Dean for Research and Graduate Studies, Director of the Legal Clinic, and Assistant Dean for Professional Development. He has also supervised and examined numerous master’s and doctoral theses across the UAE and abroad.

In the field of research, Professor Alkhatib has published over twenty scholarly books and peer-reviewed papers in prestigious academic journals and international publishers. His research interests include arbitration, civil procedure, enforcement, alternative dispute resolution, and innovation in legal education. He has participated in numerous regional and international legal conferences, representing UAE University and delivering lectures on digital justice, commercial arbitration, and innovative legal pedagogy.

Beyond academia, Professor Alkhatib is recognized as one of the leading legal experts in the UAE, providing legal and legislative consultancy to various government entities and higher education institutions. He has played an active role in promoting arbitration practices in the UAE through his memberships in several local and regional arbitration centers and committees.

Professor Alkhatib’s career reflects a balance between academic rigor and practical vision, grounded in a deep belief in the power of legal knowledge to serve society and uphold justice—an ethos inspired by the values and vision of the UAE’s leadership in building human capital and advancing knowledge.

Dr. Mohammad Nsour is a professor of law, lawyer, and legal consultant specializing in international commercial law, arbitration, and dispute resolution. He holds a Ph.D. in Law from McGill University and an LL.M. from Fordham University. He has extensive academic and professional experience in Jordan and the United Arab Emirates. He has contributed to drafting legislation and regional legal projects, handled major commercial and investment arbitration cases, and advised government entities and international organizations.

He is also the author of a book and numerous research papers published in peer-reviewed international law journals. He is fluent in Arabic and English and has a very good command of French. 

Dr. Mohammad Ibrahim Abdulrahim

Dr. Mohammad Ibrahim Abdulrahim Abdulla is an Assistant Professor at the College of Law, United Arab Emirates University, and a licensed attorney authorized to practice before the Dubai Courts. He holds a Doctor of Judicial Science (S.J.D.) from Penn State University, where his research focused on UAE arbitration case law. He also holds an LL.M. in International Commercial Law from the University of Aberdeen. 

Dr. Mohammad has extensive academic and professional experience in international commercial law, arbitration, and dispute resolution. He has served as Head of the Dispute Resolution Department at a law firm and is a member of the Dubai International Arbitration Centre. His research interests include maritime arbitration and legal liability arising from artificial intelligence, and he has published several articles in international academic journals. He also contributes to the development of legal education and coaches UAEU teams participating in international commercial arbitration competitions.

Dr. Abdulla Alremeithi is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Private Law, specializing in Civil Law. He earned his Ph.D. in Law from Case Western Reserve University in the United States. He has academic experience in teaching and legal research, with interests focusing on various areas of civil law, particularly contracts, obligations, and civil liability, as well as legislative developments and contemporary legal issues. He also actively participates in activities and programs aimed at developing students’ legal skills and strengthening their analytical, research, and practical abilities.

Professor Dr. Abu Al-Wafa Mohamed Abu Al-Wafa Ibrahim is a Professor of Law at the College of Law, United Arab Emirates University, and a Professor in the Department of Public Law at the Faculty of Sharia and Law in Tanta, Al-Azhar University. He holds a Ph.D. in Law, specializing in comparative Islamic jurisprudence, awarded with distinction. He has extensive academic and legal experience in teaching, scholarly research, and supervising master’s and doctoral theses. He has participated in numerous international conferences, published peer-reviewed research, and received awards in several Arab academic competitions. He is also licensed to practice before the Egyptian Court of Cassation and is a member of several academic associations.

Khamis Nekhaira Obaid Matar Al Dhaheri is a Legal Researcher and Dispute Conciliator currently working in the Legal Affairs Office at the Environment Agency – Abu Dhabi. His responsibilities include providing legal advice and support, reviewing contracts and agreements, handling legal proceedings, and ensuring the agency’s compliance with environmental legislation. He holds a Bachelor of Laws from United Arab Emirates University, graduating with a GPA of 3.8. 

He has experience in real estate legislation and compliance from the Department of Municipalities and Transport in Abu Dhabi, as well as in procurement and contracts at the Department of Health and inspection and enforcement at the Abu Dhabi Pension Fund. He also trained at the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department and participated in a qualification program for government real estate mediators. He is skilled in drafting legal documents and opinions and communicates fluently in Arabic and English.
