In an era marked by rapid global transformations and complex educational challenges, there is a pressing need for reforms that reshape our educational outlook to align with the evolving demands of contemporary societies. These global shifts have significantly impacted lives, prompting a widespread pursuit of improved educational practices. In response, the College of Education at the United Arab Emirates University is organizing an educational conference under the theme “Quality Education for a Sustainable & Transformative Future.” This event will unite educators, policymakers, and researchers from diverse disciplines to explore how education can catalyze building a more inclusive, equitable, and sustainable future. We view education not merely as a means of personal and professional development, but as a cornerstone for societal advancement and environmental responsibility. By emphasizing quality, inclusivity, sustainability, and innovation, education systems can equip learners of all ages to become proactive agents of change within their communities and beyond. The conference aspires to inspire new ways of thinking and foster meaningful dialogue around shaping a sustainable and transformative educational future—empowering individuals and communities to thrive in an ever-changing world.
This Conference is grounded in the College’s commitment to excellence in teacher preparation, evidenced by its accreditation by the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP) in 2021 for a seven-year term and by the UAE Ministry of Education’s Commission for Academic Accreditation (CAA). As one of the first four colleges established at the United Arab Emirates University, the College of Education carries a distinguished legacy and has played a foundational role in advancing teacher education and educational research in the UAE. The Conference brings us together to celebrate a significant national milestone, as the United Arab Emirates University marks its 50th anniversary in 2026, commemorating half a century of service as the nation’s premier institution of higher education.
