 Theme: Education in the Innovation Era: Closing gaps and Opening Opportunities

Introduction

Education as a profession and educational practices are currently experiencing rapid and continuous challenges due of the demands of today and tomorrow. As such, we need responsive and disruptive policies to close existing gaps and provide opportunities for growth and prosperities. Hence the search for better educational practices will no doubt continue.

The conference theme highlights the importance of creative and/or innovative educational practices in order to close unwanted gaps in educational processes. Addressing the issues of creativity and/or innovation will help in developing and maintaining better teaching and learning outcomes. The overall goal of the conference is therefore to bring together educational practitioners from around the globe to share creative and/or innovative ideas related to educational policies and practices to improve learning outcomes and promote citizenship and national priorities. 

The conference invites researchers, educators, teachers and professional practitioners to discuss and share creative and innovative practices in maintaining and enhancing excellence in education mostly needed at this time of great challenges.

The College of Education at the UAE University intends to invite a number of prominent international keynote speakers from different educational disciplines to speak at the conference. It is also expected that interested researchers and teachers will come together to share experiences and discuss effective approaches and procedures to enhance and maintain excellence in education.

Goals of the Conference:

  1. Explore current and future challenges that face education and educational practices with views to close loops and gaps and provide new opportunities for further innovative educational practices.
  2. Discuss educational reforms in the era of innovation to foster learning outcomes.
  3. Assess the impact of innovative educational practices on teaching and learning outcomes and student dispositions.
  4. Reflect on the influence of innovative technologies on teaching students at all ages and at all abilities.
  5. Discuss quality assurance systems that are needed to gauge educational practices within the general education as well as the higher education institutions.
  6. Develop and cement effective and viable partnerships with stakeholders and educational agents nationally and internationally.
