Symposium on Innovation & Entrepreneurship Education (SIEE)

Symposium audience: Faculty members and university administrators who want to gain knowledge and new perspectives related to teaching innovation and entrepreneurship. The majority of attendees will be faculty members, with the remainder of the audience consisting of government and industry representatives.

Symposium Outline: The symposium will include a series of talks by Stanford faculty and Silicon Valley experts who have been teaching innovation and entrepreneurship to students and executives for many years. Speakers will describe the learnings that they’ve had over the years of teaching these topics, how their philosophy and approach has changed and evolved, and what they feel is most important in achieving success when teaching topics such as design thinking and creativity, scaling new businesses and ideas, lean startups, teams and an innovation culture, venture finance, strategy in growing companies, etc.

The lectures will include some experiential components that will model some of the teaching techniques used on the Stanford campus, and will hopefully inspire UAE faculty to adopt some of these methods and engage with the curriculum and coaching activities that will be part of the larger collaboration between Stanford and the UAE.
