The late Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan has long considered education as the vehicle that leads the UAE society to the ranks of developed countries. He believed in the strategic role of education in building the human being, refining his character, and preparing him to be able to face the challenges he faces in every age. He often reiterated– God rest his soul in peace- that man, not money, is the real wealth. Some of his sayings include the following: “Educating people in itself is a great treasure we cherish. Knowledge is wealth and we are building the future on a scientific basis. "
Sheikh Zayed had always emphasized the need for continuous development of education
in the United Arab Emirates, and the importance of this in building educated and distinct
generations that preserve the achievements of the homeland and participate in the
development of society.
In the footsteps of Zayed, the United Arab Emirates seeks to continuously develop the educational system (all curricula have been recently developed), attract the best teachers, qualify them, and ensure their competence through the licensing of the teaching profession, providing the capabilities and modern technologies to implement the curricula developed with great effectiveness, and using the latest evaluation policies and strategies. This forum comes in the Year of Zaid (God rest his soul in peace) and presents ideas that contribute to the development of education in the United Arab Emirates.
