There is a plethora of information on the science and techniques of genomic analysis and the best practice depends on the goals. Although genomic data acquisition is mainstreamed, its analysis and interpretation is not yet an easy feat. The flurry of publications on genomic science in the past decade is pointing toward a different level of complexity and the need for information exchange in this diverse field is the cornerstone to bring genomic science to everyday life. The complexity of genome analysis ranges from variant identification to understanding the functions of non-coding elements.
