General Manager, Al Ain City Municipality
We are happy to notice that International Conference on Engineering Geophysics has gained high confidence of the near-surface geophysics community. This conference merited and occupied a prestigious position to become one of the most important specialized conferences in the field of engineering geophysics. It has been classified by the specialists as one of the top five international conferences in this field for the past thirty years. This success encourages us to move forward in organizing the conference and inviting the specialists to participate and put forward their latest and best ideas and technologies in this field.
By hosting the conference once again in Al-Ain, we warmheartedly welcome you to Al-Ain in the sixth edition of the ICEG. Together with our strategic partner, the United Arab Emirates University, we are setting off again for broader horizons of research and analysis to provide the best for the communities at large. We all strive to support the UAE's vision in building a diversified economy based on sustainability through the development of the field of engineering geophysics, which is a pivotal factor in the urban and economic sectors of the country, as the field of geophysics helps in identifying the underground geological structures that may generate environmental risks.
In the last year conference, we signed several conference’s related bilateral agreements. Many Emirati researchers participated in the ICEG. The students who won the Students’ Research and Scientific Publications Award have been honored during the conference. A total of 21 government and private sector bodies presented their latest geophysical applications, and we have reached to a number of recommendations among them intensifying the use of remote sensing information for the study of groundwater in the country, the importance of using artificial intelligence to support and develop geophysical studies, and the introduction of engineering and environmental geophysics in academic programs.
This ICEG21, we are looking forward to achieving further accomplishment and accomplish more developed projects that will serve the field of engineering geophysics.
